Desert Safari Dunes started more than 20 years ago with a handful of 4x4s, a small camp and a simple idea: show visitors the real Abu Dhabi desert the way locals enjoy it. Not a rushed photo stop, but proper time in the dunes, good food, warm hospitality and drivers who know every ridge of sand by heart.
Two decades later, we've grown into a trusted desert safari company in Abu Dhabi, hosting guests from all over the world. The fleet is bigger, the camp is better, and the menu has a lot more on it. The idea hasn't changed.
Our Story
It began with weekend trips for friends and hotel guests who wanted to see more than malls and skyscrapers. Word spread, and soon we were running daily safaris. Over the years we added the overnight camp, VIP seating, quad bikes and dune buggies, always because guests asked for them.
Today we run morning, evening, VIP, private and overnight safaris, along with dune buggy and ATV adventures. Many of our drivers and camp staff have been with us for over ten years, and some of our guests have now booked with us three or four times across different holidays. That kind of loyalty is the part we're proudest of.

Every 4x4 is serviced on a strict schedule and fitted with roll cages, seatbelts and first-aid kits. Our drivers are licensed for desert driving and trained to read the sand, the weather and the guests in their car. If someone needs a gentler ride, they get one.

Behind every safari is a team that makes it look easy. Our drivers handle the dunes. Our camp crew sets up the seating, lights the BBQ and keeps the tea coming. Our entertainers bring the Tanoura and fire shows to life. And our booking team is the friendly voice on WhatsApp who sorts out your pickup at 7am or answers your questions at 10pm.
Our Camp
Our Bedouin-style camp sits in the red dunes outside Abu Dhabi city. It has low majlis seating with cushions and carpets, a raised stage for shows, a BBQ station, clean washrooms, and separate areas for camel rides, sandboarding and quad biking. VIP guests get their own seating zone with table service.
Licences and Standards
Desert Safari Dunes operates under a valid Abu Dhabi tourism licence. Our vehicles are insured, and our safety procedures are reviewed every season.
A Day Behind the Scenes
Long before your pickup, our day has already started. Mechanics check tyres, brakes and recovery gear on every Land Cruiser. The camp team sweeps the majlis, lays out fresh cushions and prepares the marinades for the evening BBQ. Our booking team confirms every guest's pickup time and location, and drivers get a weather briefing before they head out. It's a lot of small jobs, and doing them properly is what makes an Abu Dhabi desert safari feel smooth for you.
